Extra Fast Action Rod Applications

The bite of a treble hook is not as deep as a big. Because of its softer feel this rod will allow for proper hook sets for light biting species. Fast action rods are great for most applications where a short to long casting distance is involved and single hooks are the rule such as worm and jig fishing. Fast action bends in the top 20 30 of the rod and it is the most common action rating. While it can be used in a variety of fishing situations it is most popular with single hooks applications like worming and jigging. Moderate action bends at the 30 40 mark and slow action bends at 50 or below.

This is the perfect rod for this application not too much tip but just enough to. The rod we use for this application is a 6 8 team lews baitcasting rod with medium heavy fast action. Again without a standard to reference it s meaningless. Extra fast action rods offer a high degree of tip sensitivity and offer faster power during hook set.

Fast moderate and slow. There are also some in between ratings like extra fast and moderate fast. While it can be used in a variety of fishing situations it is most popular with single hooks applications like worming and jigging. Extra fast the extra fast will flex only about 10 to 20 down the rod blank allowing an angler to quickly utilize the blanks power and backbone.

Ultra light rods are ideal with light lures 1 32 to 3 8 oz to load quickly and efficiently. These rods are a slight bump up in power and are ideal with lures in the 1 16 ounce range.
